How to Delete Your Data
Option 1: Delete from Seaman Guide Account
- Log in to your Seaman Guide account
- Go to your Profile Settings
- Click "Delete Account" at the bottom of the page
- Confirm the deletion
This will permanently delete all your data, including data collected through Facebook Login.
Option 2: Request Data Deletion via Email
If you no longer have access to your account, you can request data deletion by email:
- Send an email to support@seaman-guide.com
- Include your Facebook email or Seaman Guide username
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
We will process your request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email.
What Data We Collect from Facebook
When you use Facebook Login to connect your Facebook Page, we collect:
- Your Facebook User ID (for authentication)
- Your name and email address (from your Facebook profile)
- Facebook Page ID and name (to publish job vacancies)
- Access token (encrypted, to post on your behalf)
Note: We do NOT collect or store your password, friends list, posts, or any other personal data from Facebook.

Data deletion is processed immediately for account deletions, or within 7 business days for email requests.
Q: Can I recover my data after deletion?
No, data deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Q: What happens to my Facebook Page connection?
When you delete your account, the connection to your Facebook Page is automatically removed, and we will no longer be able to post on your behalf.
Q: Do I need to revoke app permissions on Facebook?
No, we automatically revoke all permissions when you delete your account. However, you can also manually revoke permissions in your Facebook Settings > Apps and Websites.
